Columbia River

In the fall(two trips) and in the spring(two trips) from astoria to tri cities area and back.  Thirteen bridges and 4 dams, with several planned stops.  If you keep your eyes opened you could possibly see a bighorn sheep on the hill sides.  We will have binoculars and scopes on board for viewing pleasure.

Upon departing Astoria our first stop is St. Helens, OR.  For a few hours you can walk around town, this was the site of the filming of Halloween Town.  Then we are off to Coon Island where depending on weather we will have a outdoor fire and dutch oven meal.  Next morning a quick tour of the bird sanctuary.

Next day we should be in Kalama, where you can visit the cultural center and the kalama lodge.  Cascade Locks, OR is our next stop where folks can check out the town, or go up to the heathman lodge or winery.  Ice cream at the east wind can’t be beat.  Hood River later that day were you can check out the town in the AM, before going up to timberline lodge.

The rest of the trip is scenic fjords and beautiful scenery, island stops, lots of sights.

We will have information each day that is put out about the history of the area.

In non haul out years, we will participate in the PDX Christmas ships, we will advertise locally for rides on the xmas ship parades.  These will be noted in the calendars of the boats.

Please reach out to us if you interested in any of these trips.
